I’m still in a little bit of a sewing/quilting funk. This commissioned quilt project I’m working on using random clothes has really got me all wigged out! The clothes they gave me are SO.BRIGHT!
Here are the ‘bricks’ I’ve already cut and stabilized.Ā I sent the customer this suggested layout to get her reaction and she likes it!! So I guess I won’t be adding in any blender fabrics!! I may still play with the placement to see if I can somehow make it a bit more cohesive but this is all I have to work with!!
If you want to offer any ideas or suggestions – I’m wide open to it š
I needed a break and I also needed a new table topper for fall so I pulled out my seasonal fabrics and put this little puppy together in one evening – it measures 14 inches square. I quilted curved lines on the pumpkin but the thread matches so well you can hardly see it. I may go back over it with black…or maybe not!
I’ve made no progress on the Redskin quilt other than deciding on the design I want to use…I’ve still got it on my ‘to-do’ list so there’s hope!
That’s all for now…I plan to pick up where I left off with this glass š
And here I thought I was the only one in a funk. Your commissioned project is interesting. I like it!

I wonder if you could make the bricks into concentric squares/rectangles alternating with a blender fabric – radiating out from the centre. Sorry I can’t make my description clearer! This link might help… https://weddingdressblue.wordpress.com/2012/03/23/tutorial-fading-charms-quilt/ But as your customer is happy with your idea maybe it’s better just to make it even if it’s not to your taste?

Thank you so much for your suggestion!! Since I’ve already shared this design with the client (and she liked it!) I’ll need to stay with that…but I think I’ll play with the color/print layout to see if I can make it more balanced. This is definitely not my taste but I need to remind myself – this is not for me!!

I think you’ve done a great job on that quilt. I can see a mostly geometrical pattern, and I think you’ve laid it out well. Let me know when you get on Etsy with those table toppers, š

Thank you Paula!! I’m not doing the etsy thing but I’d gladly make you a pumpkin table topper. I’ll PM you with details.
