Village Ta-Da!

Woohoo! I finished the Village quilt top yesterday 🙂 I’m so super happy with how this turned out. Of course, half way through I always doubt whether the final top will look good but in the end I’m usually very pleased.

After I pieced all the rows together, I got excited thinking the top was done…

It was a few hours later when I realized I still needed to add borders! LOL NOW it’s done 😉 It measures 70×76 before quilting

Not much else happening around here. I’ve been watching WTA tennis this week – there’s a tournament in Prague and one in Lexington, KY. I’m a little nervous/anxious about the US Open coming up in a few weeks…so many big names have opted out…but there are still plenty of great players that have committed, so we’ll just see how it goes.

I had an appointment Friday to get my hair highlighted & cut. I’m still not comfortable spending so much time indoors so I just got my hair cut, no color. I made another appt in 5 weeks to get color & cut…hopefully the numbers around here will continue dropping and I’ll feel more confident :-s

Have a great rest of your weekend!

  1. Congratulations on finishing your Village Quilt top. It really does look lovely. Funny how doubt creeps in half way through a project! I sometimes completely lose momentum as the ‘mind monkeys’ get to work! I find seeing other patchwork quilters making progress with their projects usually helps get me back on track. Thank you for posting your progress with the Village Quilt in ‘real time’ rather than jumping from the start to the finish – that can get a bit intimidating for slow workers like me!
I know what you mean about being wary of being indoors anywhere too long. Going to a shopping mall still feels like a scary adventure to me!

    1. Thank you Allison! It usually takes me 6+ weeks to completely finish a quilt. I still work full-time so I work on it in the evenings & weekends. ‘Mind monkeys’ Love that!…that’s exactly how it feels sometimes, LOL
