I’ve made a little more progress on my Elephant Abstractions quilt, I’ve completed through section 42.

I’ve started to get into a rhythm now and the angles aren’t slowing me down as much. I think it’s in part to the newest acquisition I got just for this project:
A light box!!

I had seen others comment about it and I found this one on sale through Amazon. It has been such a great help to ensure my fabric cuts are extending over all the edges and lines! Also pictured is another great tool for this project – washable glue sticks! I have one beside this light box and another at my ironing station to ensure the pieces and angle points stay right where they need to be.
This week I also completed Block 9 for Sewcialites2 QAL and I’ve cut the pieces for Block 10

I’m really not a fan of all these small pieces but now that I’m 10 blocks in I just need to stick with this QAL to the end in April!
A few of the quilters I follow are getting ready to start scrappy sew alongs and I’m SOOOOOO tempted to join in! π¨

I’ve also been getting into reading quite a bit lately. I’ve finished 4 books in the last month π² If you want to check out my reviews, here’s my Goodreads page. I’m currently reading “The Paris Apartment” by Lucy Foley.

The tennis calendar is starting back up with warm-up tournaments in Australia. I’m so glad I’m retired because most of the good matches are played in the middle of the night in my Eastern time zone! LOL
And the first ever United Cup just finished with USA beating Italy…. Woooooohoooooo! Congrats team USA:

That’s about all for now… have a great rest of your weekend!!

I got a lightbox from amazon too a couple years ago and yours looks like mine! It is a great tool!
The elephant quilt is coming along nicely!

I had been wanting a light box and IMO it’s a requirement for a successful Elephant Abstractions quilt! π
