T-shirt quilt done!

I finished up the commissioned Tshirt quilt – it’s washed and delivered!!

I’m waiting to hear back from my next customer so in the mean time a girls gotta stay busy…and I realized I didn’t have a table topper for the July 4th holiday (I sold the one I made last year) so…this happened:

When that was completed I dug out an old WIP and finished putting the blocks together to make a full top. This pattern was is from the Honey Pot Bee as a wild card before it all started in January…it’s called Modern Christmas Tree but as you can clearly see I did not use Christmas fabrics. I have no idea what I’m gonna do with this but at least the top is done! I may use traditional Christmas fabric for the backing…I’ll have to think about that 😉

Once again I had a rather washout week for exercise…unless you count Yoga. I completed a couple of different YT videos over the last 4 days. I can feel it in my muscles so it must be making an impact. I also logged my food every day last week using My Fitness Pal website. I’m hoping by logging what I eat I’ll begin to make better choices…food and portion wise!

Weekly update

Workout wise, last week was another wash out…I created a new exercise tracker in my BuJo in hopes it might motivate me to do something so I could fill it in but that didn’t seem to work! I started out with short run on Monday and did a 30 min Yoga video on Wed and then…nothing.

I’m not giving up! If I keep trying eventually I’ll find a plan I will stick to…all suggestions are welcome!!

As for sewing & quilting I got a bit more accomplished this week. I basted the commissioned tshirt quilt (any UVA fans out there?)

And I started quilting on it yesterday using my go-to ‘all over meander’…I’m about 1/2 way done with it now.

Friday night I made a mad dash to finish the Honey Pot Bee June block…haha, nothing like waiting until the last minute 😉 I still love these Blueberry Park fabrics…I hope they never stop making this line!

I also took a break from FMQ yesterday to make another Traveler’s Notebook. The first one I made isn’t big enough to hold my Bullet Journal and the little notebooks and I wanted to keep them all together. I picked up a cheap plastic placemat at Walmart to use as a stabilizer and gathered up a few other necessary supplies: two fat quarters of fabric, elastic cord and some batting.

I measured the circumference of two journals to make sure the width would be sufficient and cut the fabric 9.5 x 14.5. From there it went pretty quick putting it all together.

I used the awl to punch holes for the elastic and that large needle to feed it through

There are two more small notebooks underneath my Bujo…

I’m so tickled with this one!! The added batting between the fabric and the placemat gives it a soft-to-the-touch feel but it’s still very sturdy with the plastic insert.

That’s about it for me today…I’ll be finishing up that tshirt quilt today and I now have two more people waiting in the line – I’m becoming a tshirt quilt queen…LOL!

Not much sewing/quilting happened last week either – we had friends visit and I just didn’t feel right spending a lot of time in my sewing room. I did make a decision on the Afternoon Tango project I started and then got a creative block…I made another pull from my stash to fill in the missing strips and forged ahead with the original pattern. Here’s the top all pieced together:

I think adding a little more yellow helped with the overall look. I’m now contemplating adding a single white border to corral all that ‘busi-ness’ and call it done.

I took a detour from quilts and made myself a Travelers Notebook cover…if you’re not familiar with those just Google it, you’ll get an overload of information. As I’ve mentioned before I’m using a Bullet Journal to keep track of my tasks, appointments, notes and ideas and I’m getting ready to move from my first BuJo to my second (a Gold one, wow!). At the same time, I’ve just finished reading David Allen’s book “Getting Things Done” and want to incorporate his productivity method into my BuJo. I quickly realized I don’t want to keep re-writing my lists and I just so happened to have a few small notebooks lying around that would serve me well but I needed something to carry them in…enter the Travelers Notebook cover.

It may be hard to see but there are actually 3 little notebooks inside, they’re all just about the same shade of pink 😉

So, that was all the progress I made last week…let’s hope next week is MUCH more productive!!
