After a few false starts I finally got the commissioned placemats completed. I had a bit of a panic moment when I realized I didn’t have enough fabric left to make the binding because I used too much cutting the outside tree pieces. It’s a weird angle and I had to cut it twice!! Ugh!!
Luckily I had cut the backing pieces big enough to fold over the edges for binding…but it was really close on a few!!!
I quilted all-over meander except for the two trees and their trunks

And here they are on my dining room table

I’ll be mailing these off tomorrow to their new home ๐ I’m also mailing a donation package of most of my orphan blocks and a few finished tops that have just been growing old in my sewing room. I saw a post on IG asking for help so I thought – why not? I private messaged sands_handcrafted_llc to get her address and I’ll be sending her a box tomorrow.
Outside of that, not much has been going on around here. We’re still on track to close on our other house in 3 weeks and we just got the results of their inspection…there are a few things we’ll address and others we’ll offer as credits at closing.
I appreciate all the good vibes…keep ’em coming ๐
That’s all for now…it’s a chilly 42 this morning in Myrtle Beach ๐ฎ so I’ll be spending plenty of time indoors!
The place-mats turned out great — you quilting looks awesome!
